Replacing multiple missing teeth with dental implants can make a huge difference to your self-esteem and confidence. This advanced treatment is at the cutting edge of restorative dentistry – an area in which we help make the difference for our patients. Dental implant treatment offers a long-term solution to missing teeth and we’ve carried out many successful multiple tooth implants here at Shine Dental Care in Mansfield.
Missing teeth can cause several problems for your dental health. The first is that your existing teeth will move and adjust to compensate for the teeth that are no longer there. This has an effect on your natural bite and can make brushing more difficult leaving you more vulnerable to oral infection. Over time, the bone that surrounded the tooth root deteriorates making your jawbone less strong and dense. Dental implants give a wonderful opportunity to address these issues while restoring your smile.*
If you have enough healthy jawbone, it’s possible to replace single missing teeth with single implants. You may have several missing teeth in a row – but it’s good to know that you won’t need to have an implant for each missing tooth. Instead, we’ll use a bridge made up of several carefully-crafted crowns connected together to effectively conceal the gap. Whatever your situation, you can be certain that tooth implants will have no negative impact on your remaining natural teeth.
Multiple dental implant treatment at Shine Dental Care, Mansfield
Your bespoke treatment plan will depend on how many teeth are missing/failing, their locations, whether or not they are next to each other and jawbone volume. Many of the basic details are the same as single implants in that the implant consists of an artificial tooth root, which is inserted into the jawbone just like the root of a real tooth. After 3 to 4 months when the implant has fused with surrounding bone, a crown (for a single missing tooth) or bridge (for several teeth missing in a row) will be attached. The crowns or bridge will be matched to your natural teeth. You can read more here.
