The Invisalign treatment process
At Shine Dental Care, Mansfield
As orthodontic and Invisalign providers, we’re highly experienced in assessing our patients’ suitability for Invisalign. We’ll take some impressions of your teeth and identify any potential issues such as acute gum disease or missing teeth. We’ll then talk through treatment options including whether or not Invisalign is appropriate for you.
If you are suitable for Invisalign treatment and decide to go ahead, we’ll take photographs, X-rays and digital scans. These will be used by Invisalign to create a bespoke ClinCheck® 3D treatment plan. The plan shows how your teeth will move over the treatment course. You’ll be able to see your new smile before treatment even begins as ClinCheck® digitally maps your Invisalign journey from start to finish.
Your almost invisible aligners
The next step is for your aligners (invisible braces) to be custom made. You’ll replace each aligner every 1 to 2 weeks to help your teeth gradually move to their ultimate position. When your first aligners arrive, we’ll help you practise putting them in and out as well as talking through the dental hygiene routine that you’ll need to stick to.
We’ll carefully monitor your progress throughout Invisalign treatment with regular visits at convenient times to suit you. You can also download the My Invisalign Smile app to compare your progress every time you change aligner.
At the end of your treatment, we can make any final adjustments to ensure you’re completely happy with the results. We’ll also provide your retainer to help you maintain results. The Invisalign system uses Vivera retainers, which are renowned for their strength, comfort and durability.
