Invisalign Update

My name is Sharon and for those of you that have not read any of my previous news updates, I work at Shine Dental Care in Mansfield and have recently started a course of Invisalign clear braces to straighten my teeth. I am certainly no teenager and as a more ”mature” user I have decided to share my experience as a patient to help others, who might be considering this treatment, to get a better understanding of what it is actually like. I have now moved onto my third set of aligners and Invisalign has now become an everyday part of my my life. The aligners look just like those detailed in this picture and, now that I am used to them, most of the time I forget that I am wearing them. The thing that I have become the most conscious of is maintaining good oral hygiene. Fortunately working at Shine Dental Care I have access to not only a good range of dental hygiene products but also a team of friendly approachable dental professionals that includes both a hygienist and a dental therapist to ensure that both my teeth and gums stay in tip top condition throughout my treatment and to maintain my new smile. Invisalign update

I have now had my Invisalign aligners fitted and wanted to update you on my progress. I had an hour long appointment at Shine Dental Care in Mansfield last Thursday, during which David placed some small tooth coloured attachments which help the aligners grip to my teeth. I then had to insert the aligners for the first time which I am pleased to say was quite simple. I have to take them out to eat and drink anything other than water. At first I did find this a little difficult but with practice I can now do this quite easily. I have previously had tooth whitening and wearing the aligners feels very similar to wearing the bleaching trays and after just a few hours I had almost forgotten that they were there. For the first couple of days I did feel conscious that my speech was slightly different but I can honestly say hardly anyone else has noticed and as each day goes by it feels more and more natural. I have to wear my current set of aligners for a further 10 days and during this time my teeth should have moved enough that I will need to progress to my next stage aligner. Dentistry Show 2012

The Shine Dental Care team had an early start from Mansfield as they attended this year’s Dentistry show at the NEC Birmingham. This is a conference designed for the whole team to keep them up to date with latest products and presentations covering a whole range of topics from Implants to infection control. The team at Shine are all very passionate about dentistry and recognise the importance of keeping up to date and working together to maintain the highest standards throughout the practice. Invisalign Treatment

Hello my name is Sharon and I work at Shine Dental Care Mansfield. I am really excited as I am about to start my Invisalign treatment in the next few days. As a teenager I was offered the traditional metal braces to correct, what appeared to me at the time, to be a fairly minor problem with one of my front teeth. Unfortunately, I did not take this opportunity and over the years, as my teeth have moved with age, I have become more and more conscious of not only the appearance but some of the other effects such as the ease of cleaning that seem to have crept up on me. I have been fortunate enough to work alongside David for a while now, and have seen some of the fantastic results that he has achieved with the range of virtually invisible braces. I have now decided that it is my turn. After looking at all of the options David decided that the Invisalign system would be the best option for me. So far I have had some impressions taken and a few photographs which have been sent off to America. I have been able to look at a series of computerised pictures showing the stages that my teeth will move and as I am really happy with the predicted outcome my individually designed clear retainers are being specially made for me as I type. P.S. Invisalign have now developed Invisalign Teen, a clear aligner sytem specifically desigend for teenagers so that you don’t need to leave it as long as I have.
